The night before...

This is a picture of my belly the night before I was induced. Not quite as big as I was with Abby.
My mom made this adorable carseat cover for little man. I had to take a picture of it!

Smart Little Stinker

Last week Abby was invited to her little friend Sadie's birthday party. She had a great time. She doesn't really want to play with the other kids she really likes to play alone or with mommy. Oh-well. She made this beautiful crown. I have to tell this story... We were playing pass the apple and when the music would stop if you were holding the apple you got a treat. Well, Abby was the first to have it stop on her and when we went back to play again after we got a treat when the apple was passed to her she would not pass it. She wanted the music to stop so she could have another treat. We had to get another apple for the game. Why should she pass it? ( :

This is just a funny pic I took of the munch. Aren't I the best mom.

My little Abby

I was putting lotion on my belly today and Abby says to me mommy's belly is a big circle... I would have to agree. It is a BIG circle. Only two more days! Abby and I were chatting tonight when I was putting her to bed and she stood up in her crib and said big hug and gave me a big hug. It was so sweet, then some how we we got on the subject of baby brother and she said I give baby brother a big hug too. I told her he was coming to live with her in a couple of days. She said she will play with him and give him hugs. I told her he was going to be just a little baby and wasn't able to walk and talk like her so he would need to be taken care of. She told me she would help mommy take care of him. I told her good night, I love you and that we would play tomorrow and as I walked out of her room she said, "Baby brother come out tomorrow?" I said not tomorrow but soon.

Breakfast with Princess Abby

On Sunday we went to my cousin Erin's daughter's princess birthday party. Ever since we got home Abby has been obsessed with all of the party favors. Yesterday and today she had to be a princess at breakfast. As you can see from the pictures she has all of her beautiful rings and butterflies on her tray. At one point she dropped her cup and she said to me, "Excuse me mommy, the princess dropped her cup." I just busted out laughing.
- So does that make me the queen.

Calling Doctor Abby

Last night Stu walked in the door with his stethoscope around his neck and he showed Abby how it worked. She first had to listen to my bummy and hers then Stu showed her how to listen to everyone's hearts and to mommy's belly.

Dance Class

Isn't she so cute in her dance outfit.

Well, we went to Abby's first dance class last week and it did not go very well. She was excited to go. The whole way there she told us how she was going to go to dance class with other little girls and dance. We got there and she timidly walked into the room and stood there for a few minutes. Then she started doing her own form of interpretive dance - who needs a dance class. Then she sat down next to the teacher and I was so excited that it was going well. She was such a big girl. Then the teacher had them stand up and hold hands, there were only three other girls in the class, one of which was screaming in the hall and would not go in, the other two were twins and they were three years old if not getting close to four. Abby tried to hold one of the little girls hands and she pulled her hand away so Abby kind of stood there for a minute then then teacher told them to hold Abby's hands. They started marching in a circle and the two other girls could follow all the directions that the teacher was telling them, they were obviously older than Abby. It seemed like Abby just could not figure quite what to do and the teacher was not helping her at all. She just kept right on going. Abby looked at me and my mom through the window with a very scared face like she was going to cry then she turned around and tried again, but after a few more minutes of being lost she just stopped and started crying. I felt so bad. It seemed like she figured out that the other girls new what to do, but she didn't. She came running to me and said that she was never going to dance again. She was pretty dramatic. It took her awhile to calm down. I think it traumatized her. I felt like a mean mom for making her go. I am definitely pregnant went LaFaunda came home and I was telling her the story I just broke down into tears.
I withdrew her from that studio, I was not a fan of the teacher and I new it would be a battle to get her there every week if she hated it that bad. I found a studio that is closer and my old Ballet teacher's the Chatterton's own it and teach there. So we are going to go try a Mommy and Me class together and see if that goes a little better.

My Little Dancer

Last week I went down to the dance store and bought Abby her first pair of Ballet shoes, tights, leotard and skirt. She looked so cute. She just kept saying she was beautiful. She is starting dance classes on Tuesday, I hope she likes it. I am nervous she won't know quite how to handle it, but all we can do is try. Everyday she finds the bag with all her new "dancer" stuff in it and she pulls it all out one at a time and tells me what it is and says it's beautiful.

Church

Today at church Abby got so excited for the sacrament and when the sacrament tray started coming down the isle Abby enthusiastically yells out, "Chicken!" I started laughing then Stu turns to me and says some thing to me on the lines of did she just say chicken, are they going to start putting chicken nuggets on the sacrament trays. Then I really started laughing. I couldn't stop I just kept picturing McDonald's Chicken nugget being past down the isle. I was not very reverent today.

Also today at church after we finish sustaining some people Abby threw in her own thank you at the end. She is to funny. Every time we finish a hymn she lets us know the song is done.

Doctor Abby

Last night Abby and I were hanging out and all of a sudden she comes running up to me with Grandpa Mark's work ID lanyard and Pharmacopeia and takes the end of the lanyard and puts it on my bum and says, "I doctor Abby, I listen to your bum." I am not quite sure why she is listening to my bum but it was pretty funny. I couldn't stop laughing. Then she put the end on her bum and said, "I listen to my bummy." Here are a couple of snap shots I took on my phone.

Hiccups!

I think little man always has the hiccups! I wake up in the morning he has the hiccups, I go to bed at night he has the hiccups and multiple times during the day. I remember when I was prego with Abby she had them a lot, but not as much as him! Only one more month until we get to meet him.

Josh Groban Concert

Last night my mom and I went to the Josh Groban Concert last night. It was such a good concert. I just love his concerts. Our seats were pretty good too. Not amazing like the time I was on the third row but they were pretty dang good. It was an early birthday present for me. We started the night by going to the Little America for dinner with my parents and Stu and Abby. It was yummy! I always love going there. Then my mom and I headed off to the concert. I ran in to a few people that I knew a nurse from work, a radiologist and my friend Dave from high school. My mom and I reminisced about the last concert of his we went to in 2007 when we waited until 2 or 3 in the morning outside the Delta center waiting to meet Josh. We were crazy, but it was fun! My mom is a good sport. The concert was amazing, I especially loved the back drop. It is so funny to people watch as stuff like this. All these crazy old ladies that are in love with Josh. I really like Josh's music and yes I was more obsessed back in the day, but there are some crazy people out there. Thanks mom and dad for the early birthday present!

More Abby!

I have to write down some of the thing Abby says and does because they just make me laugh.

-Yesterday she was in the bath and she laid down and her ears went under water and she sat up and said so concerned, "I can't listen, I can't listen." (she can't hear) Then the water must have drained out of her ears and she she said, "Oh, okay."

- Yesterday I was sitting by Abby in a chair while we were watching TV and she suddenly turns to me and points to my belly and say, "Nemo in there?" I said no your little bother is in there and she pulls out the neck of my shirt looks down and says, "Get him out!!!" I informed her that her would come out in a little while. She seemed fine with that answer and went back to watching TV.

-Just a little tid bit... Everything Abby says right now pretty much ends with anymore... no sleep anymore, no yogurt anymore, no church anymore, tonight it was daddy no school anymore. I should say anything Abby doesn't want ends with anymore.

-Today we were in church and we told her to be quiet it was time for the the sacrament, the bread and water. She got all excited and as soon as the bread tray was put in front of her she grabbed one and I think she may have said Mmmm, then of course she wants another one. As soon as she finishes the bread she starts saying, "water, water." We kept telling her to be quiet and we had to bless the water first, we had to say a prayer and she starts yelling, "No bless, no prayers anymore." If we tell her to be quiet then she usually just gets louder and tells us no. The water tray came and she grabbed a cup by herself, we drank ours and disposed of them in the middle of the tray and she was still drinking so we told the Deacon to go on. Abby was not okay with that. She wanted to put her empty cup in the tray too. So I sent her up the isle just a little bit to to dispose of her empty cup. She walked up and tried to put in back in one of the little slots were the full ones go, but the cute Deacon, picked it up and put it were it was supposed to go. She was to proud.

-After 2 and a 1/2 talks at church today Abby was ready to go. I told her we couldn't leave until daddy sang (Stu is in the ward choir). She got all mad and said something on the lines of daddy no sing anymore. Then Stu got up to go up on the stage and sing and she thought he was getting up to leave with her and she got so upset and just stood in the isle winning until the music started then she kind of stopped and listened.

-When we got home from church today Abby asked for a drink. She got her little red cup and was determined to get water out of the fridge herself. Stu of course had to help her. She took a drink of her water then look up and said, "delicious!"

Little things...

I love my little Abby! I saw her for about an hour yesterday then left for work because she got up at 11:30am and I left for work at 12:30. I guess he had a little separation anxiety a little while after I left which is so strange, she never seems to care when I leave her with anyone. Then Stu got home had her for a couple hours then took her to my parents and they watch her for a couple hours while he went to Reunion Band practice. My parents took her to the Parade of Homes and I guess she was the center of attention everyone thought she was so cute. I guess in one of the houses she found a little chair and she went and sat on it and said, "just my size." Later on around nine pm while I was at work I called my mom to see how she was doing my mom said they were in going through the drive through at McDonald's to get an ice cream cone and Abby wanted to talk to me so she got on the phone and said she was at DaDonalds and she wanted chickie nuggets, fench fries and a snerf - the Happy Meal toy right now is a Smurf. It made me smile. I told her I was excited to see her later, even though I wouldn't see her until the next morning and she said she was too (excited to see me.) The little things that make your day. I guess she enjoyed her second dinner at nine pm and ice cream. Stu said that when he was putting her to bed he read her a book then she read him, The Going to Bed Book and that she recited it page by page almost perfectly. Smart little stinker. This morning I could hear her playing in her crib while I was getting ready and my phone rang and when I hung up and she started saying, mommy?, mommy? (I just love to hear her say that). I walked in her room and she started jumping up and down and screaming mommy, mommy. I have never had her so excited to see me. It melted my heart. Then she said, out, out, and I picked her up and she said in these exact words, "Change me, while we watch TV." It was a nice little sentence. She cracks me up. I laid her down and she said to me daddy at work?, I said no he is at school, and she said back to me, oh school, doctor. Sometimes I wonder how she remembers this stuff. I think I may have said something to her on our way to Costco the other day about daddy being at school learning to be a doctor. She amazes me. We went up to have breakfast and she had her normal oatmeal then I put some watermelon, and strawberries, and grapes on her tray and she said so enthusiastically, "Thank you!" So polite. I am at work right now and I miss her. I am so excited to see her tomorrow!

Back to School!

Stu is going back to school tomorrow. ) : I am so not ready for him to go back. It has been so nice having him home for the last two months. Abby will have a hard time having her daddy go back to school. She has become rather attached to him. Every morning she has to have both of us there. Stu and I are kind of one being... mommy, daddy. I guess the sooner he goes back the sooner he will be done.

Back to school! Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool! I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight! Ohhhh, back to school! Back to school! Back to school! Well, here goes nothing!"

Good luck with your 2nd year of Med School!

Lake Powell 2011 - Trip 2

We spent the third week of July in Lake Powell and it was a lot hotter than our first trip the month before. Abby just loves to be there. She loves to be on the boat and the houseboat. The drive down was great. Abby did so well. She talked to us and sang for the first hour or so then we turned on the DVD player and she watched TV the whole rest of the way. Heaven forbid she take a nap. She was really good. The drive wasn't to bad for me either. My back survived. I was quite nervous to be in the car for 6 hours, I can't even sit through church. Abby was so excited to be there. We got on the houseboat and I asked her where her room was and she ran down stairs to where she slept last time and said "dis my room." She was just so excited to be there. We took the port-a-crib with us again on this trip even though Abby did learn how to crawl out of it last time. She slept in it the first night great. We were in the slip so the air conditioner was on all night so it was nice an cool, but the second night it was extremely hot!!! I had sweat just running down my face. It was a long night. Abby was up most of the night, I couldn't sleep anyway. After that night I was done. So the next night we decided to try sleeping on top of the houseboat with her. To our surprise she fell asleep just fine and slept through the night. It was so much cooler up there than inside the houseboat. I think Abby thought it was pretty cool to sleep outside with mommy and daddy and all of her cousins and not in a crib. The third day after my long night with Abby, Stu and everyone else but Mark and I went to see Rainbow Bridge. It was a great day for me I got to read and relax. Ahhhh! Abby still talks about it. Abby loved to watch Sienna and Gretchen wake board and all the other kids tube. When they would finish Abby would want them to go again, until she would fall asleep. It was really nice that she would just fall asleep in the speed boat. The only way to get her to take a nap down there was to take her for a ride. Abby loved having her cousins there all the time. She liked to play on the beach and sometimes with a little coaxing she would go swimming with us. She was kind of afraid of the water sometimes. Especially if the water was dirty at all. She didn't like (poopy) water. Other times she would just jump right in. One night we were all swimming behind the houseboat and she just jumped right off the back into the water. Guess it just depended on her mood. I think we were all ready to come home and get out of the heat by the end of the trip but we had a great time. We went boating a couple days ago at Echo Reservoir and Abby thought we were at Lake Powell. She was once again so excited to get on the boat.

Abby not quite sure about the water. It was a little cold at first but she got used to it.
She thought it was pretty cool to sit on the knee board. She was surfing!
One of Abby's favorite things we did was when the crew, minus me and Grandpa went for a treasure hunt. (Geo cashing) I guess when they found it Abby wanted to take all of the treasures. She did get to keep a beach ball and that was pretty exciting. She wanted to go treasure hunting again.
My two yea whos walking slowly to find the treasure.
Stu Wake boarding
One afternoon we went for a ride up Wast canyon. It was beautiful. Abby slept the entire way up. We decided that next time we need to go see if there are any houseboat spot in that canyon it had some perfect beaches. When Abby woke up she wanted to leave the canyon she just kept saying' "get out of here."
She is such a big girl in her life jacket
