This week

What has happened in the Curtis household this week. Well, Abby fell out of her high chair because of her mother didn't click the tray in. She is okay, no bumps or bruises. I think I cried more than she did. Abby got her first little hair cut. It wasn't a total hair cut just the hair over her ears. It looked funny, it was always fluffing out over her ears. Abby got another tooth. The bottom, left front tooth. Right next to the other one. She has been really good at sleeping through the night lately but Wednesday night she was up all night and wallah... Thursday we had tooth number two. We had our first play group with some of my high school friends. Abby loved watching all the kids play. Abby has learned how to turn her mobile on and off and change the song by kicking it. She is still working on her rolling skills. She rediscovered Baby Einstein movies which is nice, they keep her entertained. We tried feeding Abby peaches ans peas, both of which she loved and Gerber yogurt melts which she didn't like very much, she would still prefer her Puffs.
The cutest little bum I have ever seen!

Gotta love those puffs. She can't eat them one at a time, has to eat them in hand fulls.

Some of the hair from her first hair cut.

It finally Happened!

Abby finally rolled over by herself last night!!! I have yet to see it, but while I was working and she was home with Daddy she was reaching for a toy and rolled over from her back to her stomach. Way to go little one!

Bath time just got so much more exciting!

Now that she can sit up, she would rather sit in the tub than lie down. She loves to splash and play with the water coming out of the faucet. It is pretty fun to watch her. It kept startling her when she would lean forward and her head would go under the stream of water, but it didn't seem so bug her enough to stop. She also got a cute new bear towel. She out grew her old ones.

Our first tooth!

Abby's first tooth broke through a couple days ago. It is the bottom right tooth. Hallelujah! She has been a little grumpy. The problem is that the one right next to it is not far behind.
This is the newest thing since Abby got her tooth. The Carp impression. We will have to post a video sometime. This picture doesn't do it justice. It is so hilarious!

6 Months Old Today

Abby is six months old today. I can't believe it has been six months already. She has grown so fast. We went to see Dr. Cramer today for her Six month check-up and she now weighs 18.05 lbs (90th percentile) and is 27.5 inches tall (over 100th percentile). Dr. Cramer says her height is off the charts and that she is about as tall as a 10 month old. We are not quite sure where she got her height from.
Abby is a little sweetheart. She is always smiling, talking, screaming and now squealing! She is getting to be a big girl. These are some of the things she loves at six months... She loves to sit, I don't know if she will ever roll because, why should she lay down when she can sit. When she is laying down she loves to kick. It is the funniest thing. We had to video it the other day because she was just going to town. She loves to play in her exersaucer, in her high chair, jumparoo and in her swing. Recently she has picked up shaking her head no. She probably does not understand what she is doing but we are in trouble nevertheless. Everything she plays with goes straight into her mouth. You never know if it might taste good. She is also teething so she likes to bite things too. She often does a great impression of a carp, we don't know why, but it is pretty funny. She LOVES to eat. Her favorite is Green Beans, but she also likes: Sweet Potatoes, Rice cereal, Pears and Pineapple, Squash, Pears, Mashed potatoes, Refried Beans at El
Farol and anything else we decide to give her. Another thing she loves is when she is sitting in her high chair and we dump a bunch of Gerber Puffs on the tray and she picks them up and eats them. Sometimes one by one, others times in hand fulls and she lets us know when she is finished and wants more. Those Puffs are yummy. We take them every where we go. She still loves bath time, except for when she has to get dressed afterwords. I think she would be perfectly happy if she could be naked all the time. Getting dressed anytime during the day is always a traumatic experience. She loves her toes. She likes to reach for them and eat them when she finally gets a hold of them. Even when she is in her swing she reaches over the little tray and tries to grab her feet. We can't keep shoes and socks on her because is is always pulling, or kicking them off whenever she can. She also loves to watch other kids. Anytime she is around any of her nieces or nephews she loves to just sit and watch them. She thinks she is one of them, reaching for them, grabbing them and talking to them. Last she loves to snuggle and sleep in her purple butterfly blanket. We are still working on her sleeping through the night. Most of the time lately she has, but you never know what the night will bring. Abby is such a joy in our lives. We love watching her grow and learn new things. We are excited for the next stages to come.

One of the owies from the shots she got at the doctor today.
Playing in her high chair. She loves to pick up the toys then drop them off the side. So we come over and pick them up!

Kickin' those legs!
Playing in her exersaucer. Notice one sock on, one sock off. That is how it is most of the time.
Sitting and playing with all her toys. As usual it is going straight to the mouth.

All Dressed Up

I forgot to post these pictures a couple weeks ago. Here is Abigail all dolled up in her first of many formal dresses. She even accessorized with a pearl bracelet.

So big

Abby still can't roll over but she has been sitting on her own for a few weeks now. She is also quite the little eater. She loves Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Rice Cereal, Pears and Pineapple, Gerber Puffs and anything else we feed her. We have been letting her play with a package of Christmas Peeps for the last couple weeks and she finally got in to them so we let her try them. I think she liked them. Boy, was she a sticky mess, but at was all worth it.

These are so yummy!

She loves her gumball machine.

Welcome 2010

New Years Eve was probably the most uneventful New Years we have ever had. I worked from 1-11:45 pm and then I was on call all night. Stu and Abby partied alone together all night... but I was home by 12:15 to give Stu a New Years kiss just a little late. I am glad I don't have to work any more holidays this year, so I will be around this year so Stu doesn't have to be alone again.
The Curtis family has a tradition that on New Years Eve you leave your shoe out by the fireplace and Santa stops by on his way back to the North Pole and leaves a small present in your shoe. Abby's shoe was a little small to leave something in so Santa left the shoe on top of the present.
On New Years Day we did a little cleaning and around five we got together with both our parents and had dinner, played games and watched Terminator Salvation. While we were playing Five Crowns (a card game) Abby was determined that she needed to play with cards too. So, we got her out her own set of cards. She had a hay day with them. As you can see she sucked on one then stuck it to her forehead. It didn't seem to bother her though, she just kept right on playing.
You can see Abby's little Pink shoe on her present. Santa didn't forget Stu , his present is just tucked in his shoe.

Yay! Books!

WHAT!!!!
