Double Diaper Duty

This was actually the day after Sam came home but I just uploaded the pics. I thought it was funny.

Life Is Good!

Getting a little more sun!

A Day I Don't Want To Relive

On Thursday I gave everyone a big scare. Around 6:00 am I woke up with some really heavy bleeding. We called Dr. Mark and he said it was normal to have a little heavier bleeding between day 7 and 9. Stu helped me get comfortable thinking that it would probably slow down as the day went on and left for school. About and hour later the bleeding got even heavier and I got more weak and nauseous. Thank goodness Stu had given me my cell phone before her left and I call Lafaunda upstairs and she came down to help me. She called my mom and she came right over. I just kept getting worse. Mark said to bring me right in to see him at Riverton Hospital. My mom called my dad and Lafuanda called Grant and they both came right over. I was able to crawl upstairs then passed out. I don't remember but Grant and my dad lifted me into the car. I think my dad made it to Riverton Hospital in record time. My mom said I looked awful, that I was ghostly white. The guy who got me out of the car said that I was going to end up at Imed and they followed me in with a crash cart. I don't really know all that happened I was really out of it. I do remember being really thirsty and asking if I could have a drink and the nurse told me not until they know if I was going to have to have surgery. I was worried that I might have to have a hysterectomy but at that moment a was so out of it and miserable a just wanted it to all stop. Mark came and saw me and said they would need to do a D & C. They got me up to the OR and put me under. I guess it all went okay in the OR I had to have a couple units of blood. Mark said he had never seen anything quite like it in all his years of practice. He said he had to just hold my uterus to get it to stop bleeding. If it had been any other OB they my have just done a hysterectomy. I am so thankful I had Mark there. He wanted more grandchildren. ( : I remember the first thing I asked when I woke up was if a had a trach. I really meant was I intubated because my throat was so scratchy. Every time I asked the nurse just kept telling me no. It was so much better after the surgery was done. I was really nauseous for hours but once we got that under control with some Phenegran I was able to go home. I am doing well. Still a little light headed and soar but happy to be alive an kicking. Thank you so much everyone who has called and stopped by. It means a lot! A huge thank you to my family and Grant for all the help with my children and for waiting on me. I don't know what I would do with out you all! Thank you Stu for all your help at this busy time for you with finals next week and missing school. It means more to me than you will ever know! You are the best husband!
I swelled up for some reason. Either it was all the fluid they were pumping in to me or the medication I was given, but I looked a little like Sloth from Goonies. This is actually a really good picture I looked even worse earlier. I had little slits for eyes and my lips were even bigger.

Happy 28th Birthday to us!

Yesterday was my wonderful husbands birthday. I know it wasn't the most exciting birthday her has ever had but it is always fun to celebrate. Thank you sweetheart for all your help. We all love you so much! Abby loves to celebrate birthdays. She likes to help you "blow a wish" when you blow out your candles.

My birthday last Friday! It was an exciting day. It was the day we brought Sam home.

More Choices...

Yesterday Abby wanted a treat, we have a bowl with some little candies in it and she looked in it and said to me, "I need more choices." I just laughed.

1 week old

We started off the day by getting some sun rays through the window. Still trying to get that bili count down.

Then we went for a walk down to Sandy and Terri Martin's to see their chickens.

Samuel James Curtis

Here we go! There are going to be a very long post. I think when I had Abby I was posting everyday, but with a two year old and a new baby there is not quite as much time.
Sam was born Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 5:39pm at Riverton Hospital. He weighed 8lbs exactly and was 21 inches long. I am so glad I was induced a week early. He was not a little guy! Labor and deliver went well for all. Stu had school, so I got the royal treatment and my Doctor drove me to the hospital. We arrived there around 9:00am and they started the Oxytocin around 10am. Stu arrived just shortly after that and we watched Thor. Once Thor was almost over I got an Epidural. Then we watched Notting Hill, I didn't watch a lot of it because I was too sick from the epidural (worth it though). At about 5:20 I remember looking at the clock and saying I hope this is all over by 6 and a few minutes later Dr. Grandpa Mark got there and got all set up and I was ready to push. Too contractions later little man made his debut at 5:39pm. It all went so smoothly other than I was Really nauseated four a few hours after. Grandma Jo, Grandpa Ron, Grandma Lafaunda and Abby all came right over to meet little Sam. Abby really didn't care about him the first day. She was more excited to open the present that baby brother Sam had gotten for her. (He gave her a Minnie and Mickey toy and it sure was a hit!) Someone asked Abby if she wanted baby brother Sam to come home with her and she right out said NO! The next day Abby was a little more interested in he brother. She gave him hugs and kisses and shared her toys with him. My time in the hospital was really nice. I missed my little Abby, but it was really nice to relax for a couple days. We came home on my Birthday and had a little party that night. It was a great 28th birthday. I didn't get much sleep that first night. I think I got about 3 hours, but he keeps getting better. Last night he slept for over 5 hours and I had to wake him up because I needed to feed him. He has been a little Jaundice so we have to keep going in and getting his Billirubin tested. It is still climbing so we have an appointment tomorrow and maybe get him in so photo therapy. Other than that he is perfectly healthy no other problems. He is an awesome little nurser. He was a champ from day one. Then nurse at the hospital said that is usually the case with boys they no what to do! It made me laugh. Another funny story... The second night I was in the hospital the nurse told me that she went to check on Sam in the Nursery and could not find him. She walked out and said has anyone seen Sam and the nurse at the front desk said he is over here. My nurse asked if he was being fussy and she nurse at the desk said no he is just so dang cute. It made my day to hear that.
Abby seems to love her little brother. The first thing she said to me when I got her out of bed this morning was, "Where is baby brother Sam?" She loves to ready him his truck book and put toys on him. Today she decided to be a really big helper and poured baby powder all over him. There is a pic at the bottom. This all for now. I am sure there is a whole lot I forgot and there are probably a lot of mistakes I am a little tired I will have to add and fix later.
