Must Be Siblings!

I thought it was so funny the day I found Abby with huge basket on her high chair.  I left her for one minute and while I was gone she had pulled this basket off the counter on to her high chair.  It was full of newspapers and pretty heavy.  I am not sure how she didn't drop it.

A couple weeks ago I turn my head to do something in the kitchen and Sam does the same thing with the same basket full of even more newspapers.  I am very surprised he didn't drop it.

Stuart sent this picture to me of Abby when she was around 7 or 8 months old one Saturday morning when I was at work.  The caption with the picture said, "Wipes, breakfast of champions."
The other day I find Sam (8 months old) enjoying a wipe breakfast too.

I gave Sam a hair cut...

Not to bad for trying to cut it while he was moving all over the place and screaming!  I think he has curly hair like Abby.  The ends of his hair just want to curl.

Memorial Day BBQ

This Memorial day we enjoyed a nice BBQ in our back yard.  We had Grandma and Grandpa Jensen and Emily, Paul and their kids.  Abby thought cooking marshmallows was pretty fun!

Sam's got another tooth

Sam got his other bottom front tooth not exactly sure the date but some time around here.

Sleepover

Tonight Grandma Jo invited Abby, Hallie, and Addie to sleepover. We knew Abby would not last but we let her try. On the way home Stu and I were commenting on how quite it was not having Abby talking in the back. Stu said no one is saying, "I will watch tv when I get home or I want breakfast." (Every meal is breakfast to her.) We got home and about 25 minutes later we got a call from grandma and Abby. She wanted to go home and sleep in her bed. So, I headed back to my parents to pick her up. I got her in the car and she says, "I want breakfast and watch tv when I get home." Stu knows Abby all to well. One day she will sleepover at grandma's. I knew she wouldn't last but I was really looking forward to not having to put her to bed tonight and getting a break!

Sam's 1st tooth

Sam's first tooth broke through today!  He got his bottom front right tooth.  The other bottom front tooth is right behind it!

This is the Place Heritage Park

We enjoyed a day at This is the Place.  Abby really enjoyed it.  She especially liked the pony ride.

Tic Tac Toy

Tic Tacs are the best toy ever according to Sam.  That is until Abby ate them all!

We Are Pretty Cute!

Teeny-Tiny Finger Hugs

I got some of these tonight.  When I was putting Abby to bed the second time she grabbed two of my fingers like this with her little hands and whispered, "I give you teeny-tiny finger hugs."  It is from her Daddy hugs book.  I made me smile!

Mornings

Lately when Abby comes into my room to wake me up in the mornings, she goes into my closet and finds me a pair of pants and a shirt to put on. Then she places my glasses above my shirt and some days earings are added too. She will not let me get out if bed until she has it all set up.

I liked this little bit of information about preschoolers...

Preschoolers simply don't think the way adults do — they aren't yet capable of logical thinking. Instead they think very literally, which means they can't grasp abstract concepts, and egocentrically, meaning they can't imagine anyone's perspective but their own, says Wendy Ludlow, a licensed clinical social worker and child and family therapist who runs Therapy With a Twist.
If you're sad, your preschooler might give you his teddy bear because that's what would comfort him and therefore — he reasons egocentrically — that must also be the thing you need. He simply can't understand you might prefer a spa day.

Perfect Afternoon and the things Abby Says!

Today Stu met me and the kids for a lunch picnic at the park.  It was so fun!  Thank you babe for taking time out of your busy schedule to come hang out with us.  It meant a lot to me and Abby was so excited!  While Abby was on the swing and she said to me... Don't get to close to me or I will hit you with my dangerous head, it has hair on it!  Some times the things she says are so random, but I love it!  When I was taking her to bed tonight I don't remember why I said this, but I said, "blanky, blanky, boo!"  She starts laughing and said, "You said Poo."  I said, No, I said boo," and she said, "No, you said poo."

Fun With My Ballerina Abby!

While Sam was napping on Saturday Abby and I enjoyed some time dancing together and doing an iPhone photo shoot! I love this first photo.  She was concentrating so hard on staying on her toes.  We found this leotard at my mom's house on Friday night and she had to try it on with her dance skirt, tights and dancer shoes.

Do you think I got enough?

Sad thing is this will problably only last Sam a week and a half!

Feed ME!!!

Tonight for dinner Sam polished off 3 Gerber 2nds baby food and 1 Gerber 2nds pouches baby food. He has never eaten that much in one sitting! He would finish one and freak out until I opened another one. You would think I never feed him.  Then when he went to bed he drank an 8 oz bottle.

First Ear Infection

I took Sam to the pediatrician today because he has been sick for the past four weeks and he has not been his happy self the last couple days.  Dr. Gustin said she didn't even need to listen to his lungs with a stethoscope she could hear how offal he sounded with out it.  When she did listen to his lungs she said he sounded like a squeaky toy when he breathed.  Then she looked in his ears and his left ear was infected.  So, she put him on an antibiotic for his ear infection and a steroid for his wheezing and cough.  Hopefully he will be back to normal soon.  Poor little fella!
