Our Ward Party
Tonight was our ward party. The kids had a great time. There was a big band playing for us and the second they started playing Sam started dancing. Then he wanted to be in the stage where the action was. The kids just danced and Abby loved being with her friends. The primary sang a couple songs. Since I'm the primary chorister I helped with that. I accompanied the kids during Silent Night on my harp. That was a lot of fun. The kids made the evening. They were so cute and had so much fun. Abby didn't want to leave.

Boys and Girls
I was just changing Sam's diaper and Abby came over and said, "Why does Sammy have a little weenie." I explained that boys have them but girls don't and she agreed that she and I don't have one. Then she said, "Daddy has a big one, I think he got it from exercising." I love little people's thoughts.

Chick-Fill-A
Tonight Stu had to work an overnight so he was home earlier to go to dinner with us. We had such a fun time at Chick-Fill-A. A little quote by Abbers while we were there. "Ewe Sambo is stinky, go change his trunk!" It made a us laugh. Sam really had junk in his trunk. ( : The kids had so much fun playing together in the play land. Abby loved having a buddy and Sam just thought he was a big boy. At one point Stu was laying in the slide trying to get Sam to come down. He finally did then the next time he got to the top of the slide he just kept saying mama, mama. But Abby finally kinda just pushed him down.

Sammo at 14 months
Our little Sam is getting so big. Here is a little update on him. He is really starting to understand things and is trying to talk more. Today I walked out of the room we were in and and I could hear him walking down the hall crying momma, momma. It just melted my heart. Teeth update: He is getting four molars right now and he just got one of the teeth on the bottom next to the two middle teeth and I think the one on the other side is coming in too because he is biting everything. He can say a few words that we understand... momma, dadda, sometimes Babby (Abby), quack, quack (cak, cak), guma, gumpa (grandma and grandpa), baa (for most animals), woof, woof, meow, bye, bye he also says, drink, drink, but it doesn't really sound like it should, but we can tell what he is saying. Also, when ever we give him something he likes to eat he says, nummy! When he is hungry he will either just make his way into the pantry or will hang on his high chair and scream until someone puts him in. He loves to eat, but he is becoming a little picker. He still loves soft things, usually if he finds anything soft he will snuggle it and say Baaaaa! He is getting really good at walking as long as he doesn't get going too fast. He is obsessed with remotes and anything that opens and closes and putting lids, or caps on and off things. He loves to be outside. This winter is going to be hard, he would stay outside all day long if he could. He LOVES music and to dance. Almost every morning he will be sitting in his high chair and he will point to the iPod. It is so cute to watch him dance. He will bounce and kind of lead the music. Today he was rising up on his toes instead of bending his knees. What ever he does it is so cute! He also likes shoes, every once in awhile I will find him trying on mine or Stu's shoes and trying to walk. He usually ends up getting really frustrated. He loves his daddy. Tonight when Stu got home he wanted daddy to hold him. At one point he was crying and I went to save him and he pretty much pushed me aside and walked right past to daddy. We love him to pieces. He is growing up too fast! He is a little boy now instead of my baby!
Tonight's Prayer
This was Abby's bedtime prayer... Dear Heavenly Father, bless mommy and Daddy and Abby and Sammo. Bless Abby that she will have good dreams of our happy day and happy dinner and that it will be my birthday and September and that we will have hot chocolate.
I just love kids prayers, I am sure there will be a lot of these posts!

Prayers
Lately Abby has been saying that she is scared of the dark and waking up in the middle of the night. I'm sick of getting a crappy night sleep so I asked if anyone on Facebook had any ideas to help us with this. A bunch of people said that they pray with their kids. Well I used to pray with Abby before bed but it was a fight every night and she would just yell at me and say She doesn't want to pray she wants Heavenly Father the be sad. After awhile I just got sick if fighting her so I just stopped. But last night I decided to try again. We prayed together and we prayed that Abby would be safe while she slept and that Heavenly Father would watch over and protect her while she slept. That she would get good sleep and have happy dreams. After we were done praying She says to me, "How will Heavenly Father protect me? Where is he?" I explains that he is in heaven and that he is always watching over and protecting us. She said, "Heavenly Father doesn't protect me you do." I said we both do. Abby: "How can He protect me if he is not here? So when you are not home Heavenly Father comes here?" Me: " No, he is always in Heaven watching over us."
How do you explain faith to a three year old? She did learn something though... At breakfast she prayed and said,"Please bless that Jesus will protect me when I sleep." At least she got something out of the whole discussion.
