Lake Powell 2012

Bed time stories with Grandma!

I think Sam is as big as Claire!  One day while we were there Claire asked to play with the baby, so Maisy got her her baby doll and she said no! the big baby, meaning Sam.

The first day Abby was off before we got a swim diaper on her, she thought her huge diaper full of water was so funny!

Trying to get Sam to crawl.

Sam's new found love, Capri Suns!

We had a great time in Lake Powell this year.  Abby just loves Lake Powell!  She is such a water baby!  She continues to ask me all the time when we are going to back to Lake Powell and staying on the Sun boat. (That is the house boat, it has a picture of a sun on it.)  Sam had a good time, but the nights were really hard.  Sam I am sure was just hot and uncomfortable so he didn't sleep well.  After one really bad night, mostly for grandma since she was the one who sacrificed and slept inside with Sam we decided to go home a day early.  It just wasn't worth it!  But the days were fine.  Sam took great naps and liked playing on the beach.  I think Abby could live on a beach and I would never see her.  She was in heaven, she had her cousins there all the time to play with, sand and water.  A perfect combination!  One day we took a day trip to Rainbow bridge and had ice cream at Dangling Rope.  Abby loved that.  She could remember from the year before that there was a dinosaur foot print at Rainbow bridge and wanted to see it again.  She just loved to jump in the water.  It didn't matter were we were she would always just jump in and swim around.  The first day we got there she swam from our shore all the way across to the other shore with some of the older cousins and Aunt Michele.  I couldn't believe that she pretty much swam the whole way by herself.  She got a little tired on the way back so Aunt Michele had to help a bit more but she is a pretty good little swimmer, that is was a life jacket or her puddle jumper on.  It was so fun to be with the family, we always have such a fun time there together. It's late and I am sure there are a lot of error in this but I'm tired and going to bed!

On our way to Lake Powell

Sam is going to drive us the rest of the way to Lake Powell. We stopped in Kanab for ice cream and a little break. Abby is really enjoying the new DVD player. They have both been really good on the trip down. Even if they have both only taken a twenty minute nap.

Sam's 9 month appt.

Sam's had his nine month check up this past Thursday, June 21st.  He was happy to see Dr. Gustin as usual.  He was...
-Length: 30.2 in tall (94%)
-Weight: 24.14 lbs (91%)
-Head Circumference: 18.5 in (90%)

(The only picture I have from today, so here is Sam at 9 months enjoying his life jacket)
He is still our big boy!  Every time Dr. Gustin sees him she all was laughs and comments on his happy personality and how huge he is.  He just smiles and talks to her.  This is Sam at nine months: He is still such a happy, easy going little guy.  He is rolling around and scooting like crazy.  He is trying to crawl, he gets on all fours but just goes from all fours back to sitting then back again.  It will happen soon.  He still loves to eat.  My mom bought him a shirt the other day that has an alligator on it and in it's open mouth it says, "insert snack."  That is Sam in a nut shell.  He LOVES Gerber Lil Crunchies, Garden Tomato flavor is his favorite.  He goes through probably two cans a week.  He also really likes yogurt melts.  When he sees a jar of baby food he freaks out.  Sometimes he will start shaking.  His favorite baby foods: peas, carrots are his favorite veggie (which is funny because those were the two Abby really didn't like), he likes pretty much any fruit, he really likes the baby food pouches that he can suck out the baby food.  He likes refried beans and Mexican rice, broccoli, bread, Nilla wafers, gram crackers and casseroles. He has his opinion, but he like most things we feed him.  He really likes to drink out of my cup.  It has to be my cup, even if I put what I am drinking in another cup he will not drink it.  He is a funny guy, he is pretty good a drinking out of a straw, if he sees a drink with a straw he will freak out until you give him some.  Today we went to Target and we all got Icees.  He just kept screaming until I let him have some.  He loved it!  He just kept drinking and drinking, he would not share with me!  He is not a huge fan of his bottles any more, he is too busy trying to move around and play.  Who wants to lay still and drink a bottle.  He is still a really good sleeper.  He usually takes two good naps daily one around 10 or11 depending on when he wakes up in the morning and another around 1 or 2.  Then goes to to bed between 6:30 and 7:30 and will sleep until between 7:30-9:30 then next morning.  He likes to be in the saucer but only for a small amount of time.  He loves bath time and swimming.  He loves to just splash and splash.  He absolutely loves his big sister.  The second he sees her in the morning he just smiles and laughs.  When we are driving in the car she can always make him laugh. I absolutely love listening to him talk, when I go into his room to get him out of bed in the morning he always starts saying BA, BA!, BA, BA!  I just love him to pieces and look forward to seeing his happy smiling face every day!
